UR4Africa Project, Inc. is a platform connecting people across Africa and the global African diaspora to collaborate, learn, create, and build opportunities together.

Founded through work in Nigeria in 2007 and incorporated in the United States as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2013, UR4Africa creates pathways for people interested in Africa to move beyond interest and into meaningful participation.

Our work brings together Africans and members of the diaspora through education, community engagement, diaspora exchange, and media. We develop programs, partnerships, learning experiences, and creative initiatives that create opportunities for people to share knowledge, build relationships, develop skills, and contribute to Africa's future.

UR4Africa works across Nigeria, the United States, and other parts of Africa through a growing network of partners, educators, creatives, professionals, volunteers, and community members.

At its core, UR4Africa is an invitation to participate.

It represents the idea that Africa's future is something we can all have a role in shaping whether through knowledge, creativity, investment, education, collaboration, storytelling, or simply building relationships across borders.

Africa is not just a place to visit, study, or talk about. It is a place to connect with, build with, and contribute to.

UR4Africa began in 2007 during the production of the short film Champion in Lagos, Nigeria.

The project brought together graduate students from the United States, Nigerian creatives, community members, and media partners. What began as a film production became an opportunity for people to exchange skills, share stories, collaborate, and learn from one another.

That experience shaped what we now call the UR4Africa spirit: creating meaningful connections between Africans and the global African diaspora through shared work and shared experiences.

UR4Africa Project, Inc. was formally incorporated in the United States as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2013.

UR4Africa creates pathways for Africans and the global African diaspora to connect, collaborate, and build together.

We use education, community engagement, creative projects, diaspora exchange, and media to create opportunities for knowledge-sharing, skill development, cultural exchange, and collaboration.

Our work is grounded in the belief that Africa's future is strengthened when Africans and members of the global African diaspora have meaningful ways to learn from one another, develop ideas, create opportunities, and participate in the continent's growth.

UR4Africa develops and supports programs, partnerships, and experiences that connect people to Africa and to one another.

Our work is focused in four interconnected areas:

Education
Learning experiences, youth programs, professional development, and hands-on programs that introduce new ideas, skills, careers, and possibilities.

Community Engagement
Programs and initiatives that bring people together around shared interests, local challenges, creativity, and community development.

Diaspora Exchange
Creating pathways for Africans and members of the global African diaspora to connect through collaboration, cultural exchange, travel, learning, investment, and shared projects.

Media
Using storytelling, film, digital content, and other forms of media that is educational, amplify African perspectives, and share positive and complex stories about the continent.

Our projects can take many forms, from school-based programs and creative initiatives to partnerships, events, learning experiences, and media projects.

Public Art Africa (PAA) is one of UR4Africa's flagship youth development initiatives in Nigeria.

PAA uses art, creativity, mentorship, and hands-on learning to introduce young people, particularly students in public schools, to creative careers, new ideas, professional networks, and opportunities they may not otherwise encounter.

The program connects students with artists, creatives, educators, and professionals while creating opportunities for mentorship, exhibitions, collaboration, and skill development.

Public Art Africa is designed as more than an arts program. It is part of UR4Africa's broader pipeline for helping young people imagine and participate in the future they want to build.

UR4Africa develops hands-on learning experiences that bring professionals, educators, creatives, and young people together.

Our programs can explore topics such as African Futurism, creative careers, media, entrepreneurship, technology, climate and green innovation, leadership, human rights, and community development.

We work with schools and organizational partners to design experiences that give students exposure to new ideas while allowing them to create, collaborate, and apply what they are learning.

Our goal is not simply to teach young people about possibilities. It is to give them opportunities to experience, practice, and begin building them.

We work with a broad network of Africans, members of the global African diaspora, educators, artists, creatives, professionals, schools, businesses, organizations, institutions, and community leaders.

Some partners contribute expertise. Others provide resources, networks, facilities, funding, media support, or opportunities for collaboration.

We believe strong partnerships are built around shared interests and shared value, not simply around funding a program.
